Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Just-opened leaves, then lifted smoke, fresh cut grass. This then deepens into damp socks, cheese rind and lemon.
Palate: Bone dry smoke, like standing in a peat fire. There’s sweetness but it is slightly hidden. Green wood.
Finish: Smoke.
Comment: Balanced and characterful.
7.8
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Sweet, light. Orange drops. Madeira cake. In the back, and quite distant, smoke and a hint of sea-breeze.
Palate: Sweet, silky. The same light and pleasant aromatic display as on the nose. Victoria plums. Smoke is more evident, with an astringent note.
Finish: Dry, slightly bitter.
Comment: Nothing wrong but nothing exciting. Lacks the kick which would make it palatable. Water kills it.
