Tasting notes

Taster Rob Allanson

Nose: Minerally, almost saline, then coffee grinds and bracken and burning heather. Lychee, pomegranate eventually, until roasted beetroot.
Palate: Bitter orange marmalade, candied almond and a touch of barley sugar water. Roast beetroot. A spice prickle and then ends with salt crackers.
Finish: Short and swift with that minerality showing through. Dries on rock salt crystals.
Comment: Gorgeous and breathtaking, that play of the seaside and earthiness, perfect balance.

Taster Sam Coyne

Nose: Opens like a festive treat. Marzipane, cherry-bakewells and Christmas cake. Rich and so enticing.
Palate: A rich mouthfeel, folds up into layers on the tongue. Spices, a little woody prickle, plump raisins, lashings of golden syrup and porridge. Really well balanced. Wow.
Finish: A touch short, but only serves to make you want more. Nothing too overpowering.
Comment: What a cracking dram! With a fruity, syrupy punch this is could not only be a dessert whisky but one for breakfast too.
