Tasting notes
Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: A big hit of spirit which demands water to tame it, is followed by banana fritters with double cream and dark chocolate on top with dried apricots.
Palate: Sugared ring doughnuts, Pontefract cake, ginger spices and cinnamon with pineapple chunks and a brightness that makes this a lively wee dram.
Finish: A balanced ending of cinnamon spice, ginger and brown sugar comes through to give a medium length.
Comment: Well-balanced and fruity this has lots of distillery character, which works well. Needs water.

Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Pungent, malty, earthy and lightly coffeed with a youthful spirit edge. It’s a real old school whisky nose with hints of barley, high toned but sour apricot.
Palate: Shows a little more milky oak, malt, straw-like barley and dried grass. The intense alcohol masks but water mutes the palate.
Finish: Long and mouth-watering with lingering malt, dried herbs and a hint of fleshy fruit.
Comment: I expected more of the hidden fruit to come out with water.
