Tasting notes
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Junipery, medicinal.
Palate: Lightly creamy. Sudden rush of peat. Freshly burnt grass. Big, fresh flavours.
Finish: Oily, salty, peppery.
Comment: The more Caol Ila makes itself available the more I seem to enjoy it.
8.3
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Canvas, wood smoke. Like being on Scout camp. Wet grass, smoky bacon. Water softens it.
Palate: Intense dry smoke hits immediately, then the smoked meat and singed heather.
Finish: Dry and long.
Comment: A very good, well-balanced Caol Ila, but not enough happening to make it complex. Ideal for beginners.
