Tasting notes
Taster   Ian Wisniewski
Nose: Rich dried fruit, with underlying toffee, butterscotch and digestive biscuits, chocolate, then apricot jam appears.
Palate: Creamy créme caramel and butterscotch lead to orange marmalade, apricot jam, then a serving of chocolate mousse with subtle, dry oak.
Finish: Dried fruit, shortbread and spicy oak.
Comment: Evolves with poise and self assurance, retaining controlled sweetness.
7.8
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Heavy with wood influence. Wet cellar, damp wood. Earthy notes. Distant floral touch. Fading rose.
Palate: Wood speaks up on the palate as well. Dark chocolate, raisins, burst of spices. One by one, unmelted. Pretty harsh.
Finish: Dry, bitter. Woody.
Comment: A port finish? Rather brutal and overwhelming. Was the distillery character so bland?
