Tasting notes

Taster Rob Allanson

Nose: Very gentle smoke, not in your face at all. Plenty of citrus and the waxiness of an old Barbour jacket. Hints of the farmyard (in a good way), goats’ cheese and hay bales. Vanilla syrup waffles.
Palate: The smoke unfurls here. Distant grass fires, then smoked salmon and the saline of freshly opened oysters. White pepper spice too. The waxiness is back.
Finish: Dries with that sweet smoke and a lingering fruitness.
Comment: A cracking drop and achieves great balance. Nothing dominates, or if it does, it’s not for long.

Taster Lyndsey Gray

Nose: Fresh and vibrant with coconut oil, lavender, buttered samphire and a spritz of lemon zest. Swiftly followed with notes of aloe vera, spearmint and diluted TCP.
Palate: Chargrilled lobster tails, samphire and pickled baby beetroot fresh off the barbeque. Waves of charcoal smoke, citrus fruits and prickly heat drying the back of the throat.
Finish: Waves of charcoal smoke dry into sweet earthy tones.
Comment: Barbequed seafood on a hot sandy beach.
