Tasting notes
Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Honeycomb ice cream and caramel sauce, with stewed apples and pears. Granola and candied pecan. Delicate almond biscuit. Milk cookies.
Palate: Medium-heavy bodied. Somewhat oily. Orange oils and quince jelly, blossom honey and apple crumble with cream. A dash of amaretto, then a swig of vanilla syrup.
Finish: Medium length. Fades on the sweet honey note.
Comment: A pleasing and relatively complex blended malt worthy of attention, though it’s the mouthfeel that does it for me.

Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: Mum’s homemade rum and raisin cheesecake, cream cheese, juicy raisins, resinous wood, and allspice.
Palate: ight and gentle sandalwood, lemon zest, slightly mossy green notes, pistachio dark chocolate bar, before the heat sneaks up and dries everything out.
Finish: Drying cork heat turns into fresh green leaves.
Comment: Loved the creamy fruit notes on the nose and although that didn’t develop as I expected, it still had enough about it to intrigue. Tannins are a little heavy on the finish.
