Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Salted caramel ice cream, some vanilla here too. Sherry soaked raisins and wet walnuts. Then TUC cheese crackers, smoked pork loin and pumpkin chutney. There’s gentle hints of wood smoke.
Palate: That wood smoke hits first, then a stab and tart quince jelly and aged Cheddar cheese. Plum pudding with lashing of rich, creamy custard. Golden Treacle on warm toasted rye bread.
Finish: Sweet and sour, but with honey roasted cashew nuts.
Comment: A Highland little cracker. Big bodied with plenty of character.

Taster   Sam Coyne
Nose: Tropical fruit – bananas and papaya. Almost mango yogurt aromas. Hot toast and jam. A great showcase of what a nose on a whisky can be like.
Palate: Cinnamon spice upfront, before vanilla. Follows with unctuous fruits – grilled pineapple, banana and golden syrup. Mouthfeel takes us to a new level.
Finish: That mouthfeel doesn't go anywhere, anytime soon. It hangs about with the syrup and bananas.
Comment: The palate lives up to the excitement of the nose. Living its best life on the fruitier side of things.
