Tasting notes
Taster   Mark Newton
Nose: Gosh, different! Huge malty, yeasty, breadiness merges with a herbal peat. Lapsang souchong tea, hints of chamomile even. Grist and plenty of cereal.
Palate: Plenty of peat undertones, and a honeyed sweetness that wasn’t on the nose. Briny – salted caramel milk chocolate. Herbal, black tea, slightly ashy at the back end.
Finish: Long, warming – from peat rather than wood – and a lovely briny, vanilla-sweet trade-off.
Comment: Something left-field and old-school about this – excellent stuff.

Taster   Laura Foster
Nose: Brazil nuts, almonds, hazelnuts, macadamias... toasty barbecue aroma like bacon crisps. Toast with blackberry jam.
Palate: Warming, barbecue with honey, orange peel, pistachios and macadamia, praline, cinnamon and chilli powder. Iodine, with dried grass and crusty bread.
Finish: Cereal and chilli powder leaves a warming impression. It disappears quickly.
Comment: Totally nuts about you… perhaps I’m 'nut' that into you after all. Pleasing, but one minute it’s there, the next it’s gone.
