Tasting notes
Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Sweet cereals and apple boiled sweets. Lemon curd and key lime pie. A touch of water brings out some butter icing.
Palate: Medium-light bodied. A touch hot. Plenty of orchard fruit, lemon sherbet and green apple. Green grapes and, with time, a delicate vanilla biscuit note. Takes water well, removing the heat with no loss of flavour intensity.
Finish: Medium length, vanilla stays awhile before the green apple come back for good.
Comment: Simple, but overall a nicely put-together dram.

Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: Boot polish, fresh cherries, vanilla rice pudding, sage and apple with some rye spice.
Palate: Hay bales in the sun, more of that sweet vanilla rice pudding, scraped vanilla pods, old leather and candyfloss sweetness. Melon, powdered almonds. Very drying with allspice heat.
Finish: So dry, with worn leather and icing sugar for a medium to long finish.
Comment: This is not for the faint-hearted. The heat really dries out your mouth, but the addition of a little water allows you to enjoy all it has to offer.
