Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Glowing mahogany. Rich and sweet, malt loaf studded with moist raisin. A hint of sulphur giving some lift. Bitter orange peel. Layered.
Palate: Treacle toffee melting across the tongue. Light grip, whiff of cigar smoke Chewy. Equally good withwater, coffee, light chestnut mushroom. Elegant.
Finish: Long,silky touch of smoke.
Comment: A generously proportioned beauty.
8.1
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Sherried. Flowering currant. Walnut stain. Coffee grounds. The sharpness of oak is soothed by sweet notes of dried fruit.
Palate: Sweet then bitter. The same two-step dance as on the nose. Sherry weights on the aromatic profile.
Finish: Lingering,spicy,bitter. Dark chocolate.
Comment: The distillery character is dominated by the sherry one. And the high strength makes it even more blatant.A drop of water eases it a little.
