Tasting notes
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Marine smokiness, Islay tinged. Cooked plums. Creosote. Smoked ham. Oyster chowder.
Palate: Assertive. Malty sweetness. Distinctively peaty with a sea-spray freshness.
Finish: Warm, spicy and dry.
Comment: Conclusion: A true and easy-going mariner. Straight forwardness takes the place of complexity. Is Caol Ila a major player in the vatting?

Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Biscuity, quite dry lifted by sugar puff sweetness, mandarine peel, heather. Hint of turfy smoke, stewed tea.
Palate: Smoke, then nutty malt, light oak, coconut. Crisp and firm. A little disappointing after the nose.
Finish: Firm. Light peat.
Comment: Briefly this reminded me of the smell in the old Glasgow subway. Well put together.
