Tasting notes
Taster   Jim Murray
Nose: Slightly feinty but much cleaner than some recent bottlings. Distinct barley sugar sweetness and caramel soften the blow and even make for an attractive aroma.
Palate: Extremely sweet and rich at first. There is a form of refined pepperiness new to the proceedings which compliments an intense, brown sugared maltiness. Enjoyably chewy.
Finish: Rather more bitter with some vanilla oakiness. Still malty and latterly toasty.
7.5
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Nutty. Cereal grain. Light, fresh, peat.
Palate: Creamy richness. Some toffee. Sweetish dried grass.
Finish: Grassy. Toasted marshmallows. Faintly Kirsch-like fruitiness.
Comment: A newish distillery, so this whisky is still on the young side, but I like its old-fashioned grassy-peaty flavours.
