Tasting notes
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Tricky. Not unpleasant but tends to dryness. Packaging materials? Polystyrene cups?
Palate: Sweeter than the nose would suggest. A touch of maltiness.
Finish: Now drying. Warming. Ginger biscuits and cloves. Lemon grass? Thai herbs? Bok choi?
Comment: A difficult whisky to pin down. A tricky nose shouldn't distract from a pleasant enough palate.
7.5
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Fragrant. Creamy. Apricot flan. Vanilla syrup. Caramelised almonds. Gets sweeter and sweeter. Warm bakewell tart.
Palate: Rich and smooth. Clinging on the palate. Rich fruit (stewed apples seared in butter). Sylvestry flavours. Liquorice toffee. Fennel.
Finish: Dry with a slight astringency.
Comment: Tempting nose, the palate is somewhat tougher. A good example of classic bourbon maturation. Pleasant.
