Tasting notes
Taster   Gavin D. Smith
Nose: Old-fashioned sticking plasters, herrings in a barrel.
Palate: Lively, brine and limes, backed by delicate peat-reek.
Finish: Lengthy and increasingly salty, with cereal 'new make' notes lingering.
Comment: A drinkable, if relatively undemanding whisky. Perhaps a good introduction to Islay.
8.3
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Hugely smoky. Jalapeno peppers, kippers, soot. Becomes fragrant and increasingly medicinal.
Palate: Balancing biscuity/salted crackers crispness. Burning dry leaves, smoked fish. Ointment (Savlon) in taste and texture.
Finish: Quite perfumed, fragrant smoke. Scallop.
Comment: Reekie certainly, but auld? Good fun.
