Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Soft at first then old waxed Barbour jackets, bolts of tweed. Develops a malty edge eventually with chocolate coated honeycomb. A zip of citrus and dried marjoram. Then a wave of smoke comes in, enveloping all.
Palate: Sweetness hits first then a great spicy edge leads in with cinnamon, chilli flakes and Hoisin sauce baked salmon. Then smoke rises at the end.
Finish: A touch of menthol and iodine, then the smoke hits.
Comment: Well cared for and impressively fresh for its years.

Taster   Lyndsey Gray
Nose: Smoky peanut butter in a glass? The smoke develops into iodine with undertones of lime jelly, chocolate muffins and crispy bacon with pancakes.
Palate: Barbequed pineapple, blackcurrant jam and notes of hot roasted hazelnuts, charcoal smoke, pickled strawberries and gingerbread. Suggestions of fresh mint, stewed chamomile tea and double cream.
Finish: Full of smoke powering through the fruits with a very biscuit-y finish.
Comment: Creamy, smoky, nutty, fruity, jammy, minty…
