Tasting notes
Taster   Bethany Whymark
Nose: Soft, syrup-laden sponge with honey, orange zest, almonds, and cardamom – like a Mediterranean cake. Wholemeal toast and salted butter. Golden raisins and apple skin.
Palate: Medium bodied. Thick-cut marmalade. Slightly more savoury apple notes, like a spiced apple chutney paired with mild cheese. Cinnamon-dusted wholemeal toast and manuka honey.
Finish: Medium-long, on honey and sliced apple.
Comment: This is well composed, retaining a pleasant lightness amid its meatier notes.

Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Pine sap, spearmint leaf, liquorice root and anise. Toasty tobacco and printer ink. Under it all, peach, pear and white grape. Caramel biscuit, chicory, orange juice and bootwax, too. Porridge oats, malt floor and brioche. Delicately yeasty.
Palate: Light-medium bodied. Intense orange juice, verging on concentrate, with malty cereal core. Tart lemon juice, pleasant tannin grip, and vanilla syrup.
Finish: Long, on orange cake and malted milk.
Comment: Very well put together with big, chewy flavours. Lots to like here.
