Tasting notes
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Earthy. Wet leaves, mushrooms. Damp wood. A sweet fruity note in the back. Apple and pear compote. Honeyed syrup. Dried fruit. Dates and apricots. Rye fruity sourness.
Palate: Crisp and intense. On the oak side but well integrated with fruit. Rye spiciness. Caramelised apples. Ground ginger. With water, a herb note (thyme).
Finish: Long, oaky, spicy and nutty. Praline and marzipan.
Comment: A rich enticing Bourbon with a high presence of rye.
Taster   Annabel Meikle
Nose: A tempting nose of dusty cinnamon and maple syrup, candied fruits. Water brought out mocha with coffee syrup, raspberry leaf and ginger snap biscuits.
Palate: A distinctive blackcurrant pastille taste and salmiakk (salty liquorice) with a pithy tang like grapefruit at the back. A crisp woodiness with refreshing tarragon.
Finish: A liqueur like texture balanced by the nippy finish.
Comment: I loved the balance and texture. A great start to an evening as it wakes up your palate.
