Tasting notes

Taster Rob Allanson

Nose: Vibrant toffee and caramel notes, desiccated coconut. Cherry Bakewell tarts. Plenty of oak, vanilla cream slice, choux pastry.
Palate: Lush and bold. There is a growing rye pep to this. Also vanilla custard, creamy oak lactones. Sweet to the core, apples in custard, lemon posset, a good coffee liqueur cake.
Finish: Just keeps going, leaving behind a spice layer.
Comment: This is pretty moreish. The sweet edge tempered by a coffee bitterness.

Taster Neil Ridley

Nose: Peppery rye bread, sweet vanilla, an array of spices including cinnamon studded apple and anise.
Palate: The rye note continues onto the palate, with a vanilla sweetness, some creamy cereal and more of the anise.
Finish: Once the spices and rye notes die away, the palate is left surprisingly fresh, with some lingering orchard fruit.
Comment: Pleasant, spicy and very drinkable indeed.
