Tasting notes

Taster Dominic Roskrow

Nose: Dark chocolate, cherry, tobacco pouch, sports locker room, cocoa.
Palate: Full and rich, mouth-coating even with a big splash of water, lots of sweet fruits, wood tannins and dark chocolate.
Finish: Long, spicy, fruity and woody, all held in check. Wonderful.
Comment: Still a world beater. What were you doing when Barack won? I was sipping this, celebrating in style.

Taster Martine Nouet

Nose: Intense. A bit tangy but not as the strength would let expect. Dried apple peel. Cinnamon, clove. Pot-pourri.
Palate: Sweet and smooth. Again no alcohol bite.But the woody flavours are dominating. Walnut stain.
Finish: Softer, long and spicy.
Comment: An interesting character. Again a bourbon which does not drown your tastebuds with sweetness but you have got to like oaky whiskeys.
