Tasting notes
Taster   Martine Nouet
Nose: Malty and fruity. Hazelnut fudge, digestive biscuit. Chestnut purée. A touch of dried apricot.
Palate: Velvety and sweet. Toffee, marzipan. Oak shows up at mid palate. Drying on spices.
Finish: Dry, oaky, with a nutty aftertaste and a hint of dark chocolate.
Comment: A well-knitted malt, on the oaky edge. But the malty sweetness balances the astringency. Rich profile.
Taster   Annabel Meikle
Nose: A big hit of fragrant sweetness like crystallised rose petal and candied orange peel. Gingerbread cookie dough and sultanas plumped in orange juice.
Palate: The sweetness is very perfumed, Pink Lady apples wrapped in brown paper. Toasted pencil shavings. Water reduces the sweetness.
Finish: Gummy texture, softer with water.
Comment: It was interesting to see how the virgin wood has softened the big bear up.
