Tasting notes
Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Fermenting fruits and pomegranate molasses, maraschino cherries and boozy trifle. There’s the pineapple chunks, strawberry jelly, sponge fingers, custard and whipped cream – it’s all here!
Palate: Really well integrated. All those rich fruit notes come first, before cake notes (we’re still in sherry trifle territory) and then almond. It’s delightfully chewy. Cognac-soaked raisins and white-chocolate flakes make an appearance too.
Finish: Long and dessert-like.
Comment: Really, really lovely stuff.
8.9
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Soft and very gentle. A slowly warm barley note comes through, damp oak casks, a golden syrup sweetness. Cedar chests and ginger crunch biscuits.
Palate: That barley note comes through, malt extract, digestives dunked in milky tea. But there’s tablet sweetness and a fresh lime hit too.
Finish: Warming and really comforting.
Comment: The liquid equivalent of a weighted blanket, so comforting.
