Tasting notes
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: A crisp, grainy almost pot still spicy nose. Beautifully fleshy with banana, apricot, barley and creamy vanilla. The aromas become oilier and hints of spiced orange rind and coffee appear.
Palate: A barley led opening with soft vanilla oak. Honey and again the pot still-esque spiciness. Superb intensity with juicy citrus and coffee notes coming through.
Finish: Long and spicy with the barley and fleshy fruit lingering.
Comment: Now this is the sort of whisky that excites me. Complex and full of character. Has some unmalted barley been used here?
8.7
Taster   Neil Ridley
Nose: Nutty notes, floral polish, caramel and vanilla ice cream.
Palate: Surprisingly sweet, initially, with a little woodiness underneath and a nutty, praline creaminess.
Finish: Drying oak, some caramel notes and a little dried ginger.
Comment: Well rounded, with a touch of dominant oak.
