Tasting notes
Taster   Alwynne Gwilt
Nose: Fascinating nose that wavers between sweaty pineapples, blueberries, cough syrup, cherries, powdered ginger and something sherbet-like.
Palate: Weird, beer-like, almost something akin to a hoppy IPA. Then pineapples, citrus peel and blackcurrant sweets.
Finish: Dandelion and burdock notes to finish. A little bitter, with some additional hints of dark chocolate.
Comment: Dark and slightly medicinal. Reminds me a bit of mirto. It’s confusing but weirdly attractive.
7.6
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Lightly oiled aromas of hard barley, acetone, linseed oil and lightly cardboard spices. A touch of honey and vanilla attempts to brighten the nose.
Palate: Opens with light toffee, but the hard as nails barley crashes the party, dragging some musty spices and acetone in its wake. The oak is becoming quite bitter too!
Finish: Medium length with lingering industrial notes and a late injection of coffee.
Comment: I know that there are a number of people out there that love this type of whisky, but I’m afraid that I’m not one of them!
