Tasting notes
Taster   Neil Ridley
Nose: A blast of burnt sugar, with resinous notes, dried figs, some dried gingerand a wisp of musty corks.
Palate: Woody on the first sip, with emerging notes of clove, aromatic liquorice, juicyraisin and malt extract.
Finish: Dry, spicy with a touch of toasted rye bread and rare steak.
Comment: Staying just on the right side of the wood, this has plenty of sizzle left in it,with some rather nice dry spiced notes.
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Warm plum duff, raisins, flour and breadcrumbs. A floral note, lillies anddaffodils. A winey edge, sherry must.
Palate: Builds from the nose. Sweet plump raisins doused in sherry. Dark honeyand Christmas spices, then the oak grips in too.
Finish: Short, dried and sherried.
Comment: The alcohol and wood are well mastered and integrated.
