Tasting notes

Taster Rob Allanson

Nose: Melon balls and Parma ham sprinkled with cinnamon. Custard cream biscuits. A little hay-barn and fresh earth. A rubbery edge that moves to air-dried ham and soy sauce.
Palate: Orange chocolate pieces at first, bourbon biscuits then full on Rocky Road cake, marshmallow, chocolate and honeycomb. Hints of Rum Baba and raisin infested ice cream.
Finish: That rum comes through and lasts a long time. A little meaty too.
Comment: A roller coaster ride with flavours punching through at different points.

Taster Sam Coyne

Nose: A little malty, but builds into some earthy, vegetal aromas. Some plump fruits, think raisin and plums, slowly stew in the background.
Palate: Red fruits with a little citrussy tang. Quite rich and an almost cream like mouthfeel. A decadent pudding to start although finishes slightly briny.
Finish: Long. The return of the raisin, but also something oatmeal.
Comment: Malt and sweet compliments nicely. Nose perhaps promises a little more complexity than that palate provides, but still some good layers to this one.
