Tasting notes
Taster   Annabel Meikle
Nose: Strawberry cordial and lots of stewed fruits: apricots and peaches. Quite delicate and needed coaxing to bring out buttered croissant pastry.
Palate: Rhubarb and ginger with a gentle spiciness that tingled down the sides of the tongue. Apple and pear drizzled with runny honey. A salving freshness and the perfect balance of spirit and wood.
Finish: Warm, soothing.
Comment: This whispers in your ear and draws you in – very restrained and sophisticated.
8.9
Taster   Neil Ridley
Nose: Juicy Fruit chewing gum, brandy snap biscuits, vanilla essence, candyfloss and banana custard – surely everyone’s favourite dessert.
Palate: Young and clean, with more vanilla, citrus zest and maltiness.
Finish: The sweetness descends into oak and green apple skins as the palate dries.
Comment: Nothing out of the ordinary; a well-made whisky that ticks the boxes. Just don’t expect any fireworks. More Cath Kidston than Johnny Rotten.
