Tasting notes

Taster Rob Allanson

Nose: Honey and jasmine green tea, a gentle acetone, think opening 35mm file cases. Poached pears with chocolate and rosewater. Oak with honey and raisin flapjacks. Tannin grip.
Palate: The apple pie experience, butter pastry, whipped cream, cinnamon spice and then a tart green apple. Butterscotch angel delight and tangerine juice. Beef dripping on seeded bread.
Finish: Long and delicately spiced with almond pastry.
Comment: Really fun with layers emerging. Such a great finish too.

Taster Sam Coyne

Nose: Subtle honeyed pears, and even a few pear drops too for an acetone touch.
Palate: Not so decorous, a wad of spices; oak and cinnamon up front and then hangs around the edges. Apple and a little herbal note comes through subtly and a bit of mintiness too. Water calms a little of the woodiness and offers a touch of caramel.
Finish: Finds a toffee flourish, which proves lasting.
Comment: If you like it woody this is one for you. Some enjoyable layers but not overly exciting.
