Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Flowering heather, then freshens up with vanilla, pannecotta, brown sugar and warm tweed. Leather book covers and a little salt cracker salinity there.
Palate: Agave syrup sweetness, fresh orange and ginger nut biscuits. Melted butter over hot, roasted carrots and almond slices. Toffee pennies and a little hazelnut edge.
Finish: Long and rich, hugely coating with honey, nuts and a little chilli spice.
Comment: Wonderful sweetness with a salty edge to it, similar to chilli coated prawns.
8.6
Taster   Mark Newton
Nose: Some classic notes of dried fruits, at the lighter end of the scale: apricots, sultanas, raisins, with pouring honey. Slight meatiness: boiled ham. Fanta.
Palate: Juicy and mouth-watering, repeating those classic dried fruits. Baked apples in syrup, with some pleasing maltiness. Green olives.
Finish: Medium length, oily notes with apricots, oranges, nutmeg and ginger. Warming.
Comment: A very sensible, conservative whisky, but charming indeed.
