Tasting notes
Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: Rich and inviting, with amber, orange peel, amaretti biscuit, flaked almonds and icing sugar. A hint of clotted cream in there too, and barbequed pork with pineapple chunks.
Palate: Doughy to begin with. More almond but in marzipan form, strawberry laces, nectarine segments, and crystallised ginger spice. More amber, cedar wood and sage.
Finish: Dries out to sage and chilli heat. Lingering herbal finish.
Comment: It’s a lovely sip, complex and delicate while also flavourful and well integrated.
7.9
Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Butterscotch, burnt butter and Werther’s original toffee sweets, but not much else behind this.
Palate: Creamy, medium to full body with sweet toffee and milky white chocolate penny sweets. There is a young edge that is tart, like orange sherbet, and herbal, like tarragon or parsley sauce, as well as a slightly vegetal note akin to an aged agave spirit.
Finish: White pepper – a little hot with the caramelised butterscotch lingering.
Comment: It’s full of creamy diacetyl flavours with some contrasting youthful character.
