Tasting notes
Taster   Jim Murray
Nose: Some rich, softly honied, gently waxed, leathery Bourbony notes; a good age and a light malt.
Palate: Truly stunning balance achieved by the massive sweet malt and the old oak. Deep Bourbon-style notes offering a coffee fudge depth.
Finish: Some demerara sweetness but is over whelmed by the mounting sweet oak. Never dries.
Comment: Why don't Gordon & MacPhail bottle at cask strength more often? This is fabulous.
8.8
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Salty. Seaweedy. Oily. Passion fruit. Spicy. Mace?
Palate: Light touch of sherry and toasty malt. Spicy. Pepper.
Finish: Firm, dry, appetising.
Comment: Shows that this whisky can handle some age and sherry.
