Tasting notes
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Fresh apple aroma. Grass. Touch of peat.
Palate: Firm. Fresh, fruity, apple, combining well with the vanilla, cereal character of the whisky.
Finish: Fruity. Dry. Lively, Some length.
Comment: As with the Caol Ila wood finishes reviewed in the last issue, the calvados is a powerful influence but the whisky does fight back-makes for an interesting combination.
7.8
Taster   Jim Murray
Nose: Thin, tinny, cabbage water: awfully off-beam and unattractive.
Palate: Sweet and shapeless, quite sugary.
Finish: Bitter and unwieldy.
Comment: Remind me never to put Imperial into a calvados cask.
