Tasting notes
Taster   Christopher Coates
Nose: Fermenting worts – sweet cereal, banana and a hint of funky pineapple. A hoppy element before lemon peel and ripe pear breaks through.
Palate: Medium bodied. Led by orchard fruits, with whipped cream and strawberry jelly. Sponge fingers. We’re in trifle territory. Lemon boiled sweets and lime sorbet, too,
Finish: Medium, with almond flake and more sorbet.
Comment: A lovely ‘summer whisky’.
Taster   Phoebe Calver
Nose: Walking into a garden on a balmy summer’s day, pollen floating around, lavender and heather close by, with hay bales in the distance. There’s a mid-layer of tar and saltiness, like seaweed.
Palate: Interesting, powdery, with a touch of Imperial Leather soap. Sweet honey drizzled on a waffle, pencil eraser and cooked corn.
Finish: Short, with lingering corn sweetness and maple.
Comment: This was unexpected, almost to the point of being disjointed. However, certainly demonstrated complexity within that.
