Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: A great deal of fruit at first lead by red apple, poached pears and rich liquorice notes. Then it changes into more old churches, incense, candle wax and old hymn books.
Palate: Not at odds, but a different direction. Loads more fruit, ripe blackberries coated in cinnamon icing sugar. Ground almonds and plenty of spice here too.
Finish: Drying and sharp, with hints of chocolate and marzipan.
Comment: A great whisky with plenty going on, has a delightful pot still spice edge to it.

Taster   Mark Newton
Nose: Some corking vibrancy that fades quickly. Malty, mealy, sherried indeed – sun-dried tomatoes and slightly perfumed, old roses and sandalwood.
Palate: Excellent balance, and mouth-watering, but the flavours feel trapped behind a slightly metallic layer. Slightly yeasty, and those mild flavours: apples, sultanas, honey and butter.
Finish: Short, and the yeasty, mild flavours drift on nicely.
Comment: This is not complex, but it’s a charming everyday dram.
