Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Fresh baked cornbread in an iron skillet slavered in butter. Plum jam on toast then leather gloves, warming car seats, that dusty vinyl and cardboard smell – not bad in my book. Then cherry bakewell tarts.
Palate: The bakewell tart comes through strong at first, glacé cherry, almond paste and icing sugar. Sweet. Fresh shucked corn cobs frying away.
Finish: Sweetness keeps going, buttered raisin bread, and then it starts taking on a salt edge.
Comment: A big sweet-toothed number mixed with corn notes.

Taster   Sam Coyne
Nose: A little yeast and bit bready. Some ripe fruits; cherries and plums. Yeastiness becomes a bit musty.
Palate: A little bit of Kirsch up front. Incredibly sweet.
Finish: Bread and butter pudding? Few raisins chucked in there for good measure. Dare I say it, the faintest hint of some spice?
Comment: Will appeal to those who like sweet-things, but may turn off those looking for a little more balance to their whiskeys.
