Tasting notes

Taster Annabel Meikle

Nose: Very ripe sweet cantaloupe, red apples and Starburst sweets. Apples wrapped in brown paper and fragrant candles. Zesty and waxy like star fruits and Amalfi lemons.
Palate: Crème caramel, coffee cake, lots of cocoa and Walnut Whip. Orange fondant in milk chocolate. It became rather flat and woody after time.
Finish: A rich, chewy texture.
Comment: Exceedingly good but don’t leave it for too long.

Taster Neil Ridley

Nose: A very unusual putty-like note arrives first, with a hint of tropical fruit, marzipan, a little floral wax and fragrant face powder.
Palate: A pepperiness greets the palate, but then a richer, softer tropical fruit, some creamy malt and a grain whisky note, full of greener fruit notes (think gooseberries and Kiwi). Well balanced indeed.
Finish: A surprising spicy oak note stays on to dominate the finish, alongside a subtle creaminess.
Comment: If I was going to hazard a guess, I would say a fine example of a well made Irish whiskey, but then again...
