Tasting notes
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Very subtle and lightly minty with subtle, runny honey, burnt heather and herbal smoke. With time lightly toasted oak comes through along with hints of coffeed corn.
Palate: Subtly sweet with more burnt caramel corn and taut oak. Relatively straightforward with some edgy rye spice injecting some verve.
Finish: The herbal rye is now in full flow, plus burnt caramel corn, violets, heather and milk chocolate.
Comment: The nose is possibly too subtle and the palate simplistic, but it really comes alive on the finish.
8.4
Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: A big hit of new oak, with vanilla and some light tannins with a big slice of nutmeg, hazelnut and the fresh pine smell you get in an IKEA warehouse.
Palate: Some spices come through (a big hit of fennel firstly, followed by cinnamon and the nutmeg from the nose), with a bit of black forest gateau and liquorice.
Finish: The blue Liquorice Allsorts with the bobbly bits on the outside, and nutmeg.
Comment: A nice whiskey but not a sipper in my book; good for a whiskey cocktail.
