Tasting notes
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Lightly oiled and quite coastal with plenty of sweet peat and hints of heather, honey, crisp white fruit, earth and a touch of coffee.
Palate: Crisp, fresh white fruit and dusty peat. There is a touch more toffeed oak but the coastal character saturates the mouth. Relatively straight-forward but pleasantly deep.
Finish: Very salty with a dry, alcoholic finish.
Comment: It’s always fun trying to guess the components of a blend. It comes across like a vatting of Caol Ila, Ledaig and Highland Park.

Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: A lovely delicate nose of a soft marshmallow toasting over a bonfire. Chamomile tea with honey. Vanilla and pear drops. Some element of coal dust, too.
Palate: There is a smoke element to this, which gives a good platform for the delicate oak notes, the toasted marsh-mallow and some light vanilla. A good balance but a very light whisky.
Finish: The light smoke and vanilla last. Medium dry.
Comment: Not a very old, or very extracted whisky, which benefits from the addition of smoke.
