Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Damp wool, wet forest floor, really earthy. Roasted beetroot with baked salt cod. Toasted marshmallows and chocolate covered hazelnuts. Then black ink and old paper.
Palate: Peach juice, sweet and nutty, Digestive biscuits with melted chocolate and marshmallows. Tropical fruits, salty tinge and a little tannin edge.
Finish: Short, sherbet and a little minerality there. Peat is here, but very gentle.
Comment: Pure Autumn, warming gentle spices and fruity undertones – what is not to like here.
8.8
Taster   Mark Newton
Nose: A slightly funky, sweaty note – mild, but noticeable. Sunflower oil. Pears in syrup. Buttermilk and slightly plastic notes. Créme caramel, the vanilla spilling out. Enchanting milk chocolate.
Palate: Viscous and honeyed, but one dimensional. Lingers in orchard fruits, with toffee and custard. Buttery with ground almonds and coconut.
Finish: Too short, but a pleasant oily end with hints of malt and a vegetative note.
Comment: Very approachable, as they say, for newcomers.
