Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: A little rubbery at first, tarmac and warming tyres. Mash, the barley type. Then grilled pineapple, mango coulis. Spent matches and cold log burners. Meaty too.
Palate: Those grilled fruits come through first then the smoke arrives. Hot roast salmon, smoked butter and sea salt prickle.
Finish: Sweet chunks of pineapple and then the smoke takes over. Then it dries with a little salt tingle too.
Comment: Oddly reminds me of a good pastrami sandwich; a balance of meat, mustard and pickle.
8.8
Taster   Kate Packwood
Nose: Pickled onion, engine oil and oak, bacon smoke and a hint of peroxide. Then sweet, medicinal notes of cherry cough sweets.
Palate: Earthy notes and oak give way to sweet red cherries in syrup and stewed apple.
Finish: Apple core sweetness leading in to puckering freshly ground nutmeg spice.
Comment: A little disjointed, but enjoyable, nonetheless.
