Tasting notes
Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: Rich honey drizzled liberally over hot waffles and topped with melting Nutella and whipped cream. What’s not to like?
Palate: Toasted almonds and a hint of Frangelico in this, which gives an usually nutty note. It needs a drizzle of water to tame it and bring out the vanillas.
Finish: More nutty notes, some strawberry juice and cracked black pepper.
Comment: Have they managed to mature in a hazelnut wood cask? Nuts!

Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Opens with toasty oak, vanilla and natural caramel, followed by sun dried grape, sultana and hints of red berries. A herbal graininess adds freshness and with time hints of spice appear.
Palate: Soft, butter toffee oak with grainy dried fruit and winey red fruit. Bitter spices but the graininess adds balance.
Finish: Good length. Intense and vibrant. A little austere with grain and red fruits.
Comment: A vatted grain? It certainly exhibits youth and maturity and possibly wine finished. Either way it’s very enjoyable.
