Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Clean and light with precise phenolic notes, citrus, vanilla yellow haddock. All quite restrained...in a peaty way. Like standing on a high, rainy moor.
Palate: Immediate smoke, but with a balancing sweetness that runs the length of the palate. Great drive and energy.
Finish: Phenolic, dry. Medium length.
Comment: A young, punchy vatting. For beginners and peat lovers.
8.0
Taster   Michael Jackson
Nose: Fresh. Fruit salad.
Palate: Long, fruity, dusty. Sweet shop flavours. Children's sweet. Dolly mixtures.
Finish: Soft liquorice. Some liquorice root. A hint of phenol smokiness.
Comment: Light but enjoyable flavours. A lively, attractive, feminine whisky, but the island character is scarcely evident: an omission for which a half point is deducted.
