Tasting notes
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Chunky thick set honey and very subtle herbal rye. Pleasantly soft but edgy with toasted oak and earthy notes. A late winey, nutty Marsanne grape-like note appears along with a light, almost salty note.
Palate: Very much like the nose, maybe slightly oilier with a lovely depth of honey and again very subtle rye notes. Toasty, nutty oak on the middle with some building crisp, grainy notes.
Finish: Long and displaying some herbal spice and a lovely peppery finish.
Comment: A subtle rye whisky with more than a passing resemblance to an Irish grain whiskey.

Taster   Joel Harrison
Nose: This smells almost like gin, neat spirit and spices. If it wasn’t for the colour I’d have thought it was new make. I can’t say a lot more than ‘clean
Palate: Again, this comes across like a gin. Really odd, with some spices and juniper tones. It’s a confusing old dram with not enough spice nor jammy notes which are desperately trying to emerge.
Finish: More spirit.
Comment: I think I’ll save this sample and use it as a wash in a vodka martini; or it might make a cracking Boulevardier.
