Tasting notes
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Gently crisp, with some lovely jammy edges to it. Poached pears, IPA beer and a herb garden quality. Blackberries too. Marshmallow sweetness and ginger-nut biscuits.
Palate: Chocolate covered oranges, sugar syrup with lime juice, honeycomb and eventually macadamia nut and creamy oak tones.
Finish: Crisp and spicy with the wood starting to come through.
Comment: Lovely and light, but with some interesting turns, especially how the palate moves.
7.8
Taster   Mark Newton
Nose: Apricots, jam tarts, cheesecake. Digestive biscuits. Buttermilk. The fresh, pudding notes fade towards green apple, cider vinegar, traces of sage and cut grass. Lovely and light stuff.
Palate: Green apples and golden syrup. Slightly acidic, with grapefruit juice, cider vinegar and citrus meaning it’s sharp. Fresher fruits return, with vanilla, and it’s much more pleasant.
Finish: Nutmeg and black pepper, with bitter tannins dominating.
Comment: Lop-sided towards the sharper end of things. Bracing stuff…
