Tasting notes
Taster   Arthur Motley
Nose: Melted butter, apples and lemon rind (the preparatory stage of a crumble). Wet paint and plasticene. With water lots of sourness: gooseberries, soor plooms and grapefruit.
Palate: Mouthfilling and challenging with lime marmalade on brown bread and a dry finish.
Finish: A little sourness and perhaps some soap.
Comment: Distinctive and fascinating sourness: a complex, tangy old tart.
8.3
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Spicy! Curry leaf/fenugreek. Lightly floral, cooked pear, melted butter, linden blossom, light grass and a charred smokiness. Has character and quality.
Palate: Round and balancing between the tart and the sweet. Sadly there's also a slightly soapy quality.
Finish: Unripe fruit.
Comment: It's a decent dram, but the soapiness just knocks it back a few points.
