Tasting notes
Taster   Annabel Meikle
Nose: A bouquet of flowers - honeysuckle, jasmine and peach blossom. Peaches and nectarines emerge slowly. With water, sliced ripe pear and cardamon.
Palate: Like standing in a cool cave with soft flint and damp moss. A little lychee. With water spices tip toe around – nutmeg and mace and a sprinkle of cinnamon wrap around your tongue. An exotic wood smolders in the background. Saffron and honey.
Finish: Initially in that cool cave, but the spices warm it up. Give it the time it deserves.
Comment: Great finesse and great balance - all is clear now!
Taster   Rob Allanson
Nose: Strawberry sponge cake: a mix of light maltiness and fruity jam, a little icing sugar sweetness too. A coconut suntan lotion note, sliced apples. A gentle hint of peat lurks.
Palate: Initially big and dense, plenty of malt and crunchy grain notes, vanilla fudge. it moves into great sweetness, chewing gums, pear drops and Pontefract cakes as well.
Finish: A gentle hint of smoke, a touch of peppermint and spices.
Comment: A well put together blend, subtle and balanced.
