Tasting notes

Taster Christopher Coates

Nose: Perfumed and heady. Apricots, bergamot and clove. Overripe pineapple and cedar cigar box. A flinty minerality is joined by a sweet gentian-led florality.
Palate: Medium body. More robust than one might assume from the ABV. The pineapple’s here with concentrated orange juice, turmeric and more of that Suze-like gentian note. The minerality carries over and adds a degree of complexity.
Finish: Fades on Fanta orange (soda).
Comment: Could be mistaken for a Speysider.

Taster Phoebe Calver

Nose: Dustings of sandalwood, then grated parmesan over pumpkin and pinenut ravioli. Bright, fresh fruit with melon and clementine, some honey and scooped-out fig.
Palate: It’s like a dusty pine box with a little flare of peppermint spice freshness, and dusty honey. There’s a subtle hint of melon and then grass after the rain.
Finish: Short to medium finish. It’s all quiet and then leaves things zesty.
Comment: It certainly takes you on a bit of a road trip, full of twists and turns.
