Tasting notes
Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Full and thick with decent intensity. American oak: hot sawdust, cherry, spices. Sugared almond.
Palate: Sweet with banana and coconut to the fore. Ripe with just sufficient grip. A drop of water brings out the grass, giving it a fragrant edge.
Finish: Medium.
Comment: Proof (if it were needed) that Cooley is a serious player.
7.8
Taster   Gavin D. Smith
Nose: Quite bourbon-like. Vanilla, maple syrup, and even a suggestion of menthol. Ice cream and fudge sauce.
Palate: Initially, drier and more oaky than the nose promises, but with developing stewed fruits.
Finish: Short and slightly bitter. Disappointing.
Comment: The luxurious nose raises expectations that the palate can't quite match.
