Tasting notes
Taster   Annabel Meikle
Nose: Clean smoke with lime and coconut sorbet. Wet stones on the beach and ozone. Becomes softer and fruitier with water with elderflower and gooseberries emerging. Malt loaf and seashells on the shore.
Palate: A blast of fiery burning heather and peat smoke. Toasted grist and liquorice. A salt crusted baked fish, lime pickle and then damp sack cloth, and canvas.
Finish: A warm hit followed with a short finish neat, this lengthens with water.
Comment: The distillery character shouts from the rooftops - I spotted this a mile off.
Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Complex with brittle barley, herbal peat, lightly perfumed honey and a touch of manure. Quite granity and gently phenolic. That intense alcohol makes the nose quite austere. With time hints of pepper, brine, malt and Bovril appear.
Palate: Full and lightly briny with manure, tar, a touch of sweet smoke, sweet parma violets and alcohol! Lightly medicinal with a late bog myrtle note.
Finish: The alcohol causes intense salivation and drying!
Comment: Young, intense and alcoholic!
