Tasting notes

Taster Bethany Whymark

Nose: Maple syrup-soaked wholewheat pancakes. Rye bread and lime marmalade. Ground cumin and turmeric. Nectarines and pecan praline.
Palate: Rye toast and peach compote. Caramel wafers and vanilla latte. Orange-spiked crème brûlée with more pecan praline.
Finish: Medium-short, fading on dark chocolate-coated orange peel and a little menthol freshness.
Comment: Very well balanced. One for those who like their bourbons on the savoury, high-rye side.

Taster Christopher Coates

Nose: Hot, sawn oak, rose petals, cherry brandy, and walnut liqueur. Instant coffee granules and strawberry cable sweets. Orange, lemon and lime boiled sweets. Grated nutmeg and cinnamon stick.
Palate: Light-bodied. Plum jam and blackberry cordial. Cinnamon balls and cola cube candies. Coffee cake and milk chocolate emerge with time on the palate. Sweet black tea and delicate tannins.
Finish: Long, on toffee, cinnamon and liquorice root.
Comment: A solid showing from NY. Plenty to keep you interested.
